Allen enjoyed a strong rookie season for the Bucks, ranking third on the team in scoring at 13.4 points per game...He was the team's primary long-distance threat, shooting .393 from three-point range on 117-for-298, leading Milwaukee in all three categories...He also averaged 4.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists to rank fifth on the club in both categories...He shot .430 from the field but led the team in free throw shooting at .823...Allen played in all 82 games for Milwaukee and started a team-high 81. He scored in double figures 55 times, including the last nine games of the season, and had 20+ points 12 times. He scored a career-high 32 points in a 117-112 loss at Phoenix on March 25, and posted highs of nine rebounds twice and nine assists once...He closed out the season strong, averaging 17.1 ppg in April and shooting .500 on 18-for-36 from behind the three-point arc. His .393 three-point percentage was the third-best in Bucks history...Allen competed in the Schick Rookie Game at All-Star Weekend and scored eight points. He also was the national spokesman for the game. In addition, he became the first Buck since Paul Pressey in 1986 to compete in the Nestle Crunch Slam Dunk.

An All-America selection and the 1996 Big East Player of the Year at Connecticut...As a junior, Allen was a consensus All-America First Team selection and was also named UPI's College Player of the Year...He was a unanimous All-Big East First team pick after averaging 23.4 ppg, 6.5 rpg and 3.3 apg in 35 games...Allen finished No. 3 on the Huskies' career scoring list with 1,922 points and also set a UConn single-season record by connecting on 115 three-pointers in 1995-96...Allen was the first UConn player ever to earn All-America recognition in back-to-back seasons, after being named to AP's and NABC's Third Team as a sophomore in 1994-95...
