Each account holder will have the opportunity to select the number of seats equal to or less than the number of seats that they have purchased for the 2004-05 season. Priority is based on the account holder’s ticket price, followed by the original date of deposit (which includes the original purchase date of Hornets tickets dating back to 1987).
The state-of-the-art New Charlotte Arena, with its location in the heart of the Queen City, will redefine entertainment in the Carolinas. Imagine a virtual theme park packed with exhibits, activities, restaurants, shopping and fun for everyone. Not to mention exciting sporting events, sellout concerts and amazing shows over 125 nights a year.
With such a prominent spot in the Charlotte skyline, it was crucial for designers to relate the New Charlotte Arena to the character of the city. Thus, they have incorporated details such as the city’s signature tree-lined sidewalks plus brick facades, exposed concrete and steelwork reminiscent of historic textile mills and warehouses.
With these familiar reminders of the past, you will immediately feel at home, even as you’re energized by the modern-day dazzle you’ll experience inside. With its wireless infrastructure, the New Charlotte Arena will blend traditional elements with incredible technology, ranging from flat-panel LCD television screens to high-definition LED signage displays.
The signature icon of the new arena will be a state-of-the-art scoreboard, which will be the largest and most technologically advanced in the country. It will not only revolutionize the appearance of future scoreboards, but will be groundbreaking in its use of high definition video and theatrical special effects. The arena sound system will target each individual seating section, taking the arena acoustics into consideration while focusing sound directly to seat holders.
Every element of the New Charlotte Arena has been created with the ultimate fan experience in mind. The building is designed specifically for basketball and has been structured to put fans closer to the court with incredible sightlines in an intimate seating bowl configuration, along with comfort and convenience never before experienced in the Charlotte market.
Every fan will receive the benefits of extra wide concourses, roomy and individually upholstered seats, multi-leveled atriums with terraces inside and out with views of both the city and other fans in the arena concourses, a four-story box office atrium with 22 windows that will be open every day, multiple escalators and elevators and access throughout for guests with disabilities
From the moment you walk into the atrium, you’ll be caught up in the infectious energy. As you move through the arena by way of concourse “streets”, you’ll encounter stylized galleries that serve as destinations for dining and interactive entertainment. These galleries incorporate different geographical and cultural themes of the Carolinas such as the Gold Rush Gallery and the Carolinas Marketplace.
All fans will have access to three signature lounges -- a basketball-themed sports bar overlooking the Bobcats practice court that pays tribute to the hoops history of the Carolinas; the “Flight Deck”, which will provide multiple food and beverage gathering spots as well as terraces with views of the Charlotte skyline; and “Rock the Rooftop” a unique area inside the upper bowl overlooking the court, where fans can enjoy food and drinks in a tailgating atmosphere while watching the game or spend time with their kids in the family interactive zone just steps away from the action.
All in all, every fan will feel like a valued member of the Charlotte Bobcats team in the New Charlotte Arena.
