Alan Anderson Back With Bobcats

The Bobcats have brought back Alan Anderson for the remainder of the 2006-07 season; it was announced by Bobcats General Manager and Head Coach Bernie Bickerstaff. Anderson was signed on Saturday after playing 36 games with the Tulsa 66ers of the D-League. Charlotte's roster now stands at 15 players.

Anderson will be in uniform tonight when the Bobcats take on Milwaukee and wear jersey number 21 temporarily, before switching back to his previous number of 15.

The 6-6, 220-pound guard/forward averaged 15.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals for the 66ers. He is the league’s 17th Gatorade call-up this season and second Bobcats player with D-League experience. Ryan Hollins was allocated to Fort Worth on November 22, 2006 and called back on December 18, 2006.

A member of the D-League Eastern Division All-Star team, Anderson reached double-figure scoring 19 times including a season-high 40 points against Sioux Falls, where he connected on 12-18 from the field and 16-17 from the free-throw line.

Anderson was originally signed by Charlotte as a free agent on August 9, 2005, after going undrafted in the 2005 NBA Draft out of Michigan State. The second-year player appeared in 42 career games and averaged 5.2 points and 1.9 rebounds with .406 shooting from the field, .394 from three-point range and .805 at the free throw line. He was waived by the Bobcats on November 27, 2006 after appearing in six games.
