It all came together for the Bobcats on Wednesday night in New Jersey as Charlotte snapped their eight-game losing streak with an impressive 91-83 victory over the Nets.

Brevin Knight and Emeka Okafor teamed up to form a deadly inside-out duo that highlighted a total team effort from the Bobcats as they recorded their second road win of the season.

Knight, a New Jersey native, turned in one of his finest peformances of the season posting a season-high 25 points along with seven assists and five steals. Okafor meanwhile tallied his 14th double-double of the year with 14 points and 13 rebounds along with a career-high tying six blocks.

The turning point in the game for the Bobcats came in the third stanza. Trailing 40-34 and shooting just 33.3 percent (14-42) from the field at halftime, Charlotte began to click offensively as the third quarter got underway. Connecting on nine of their first 13 shots in the stanza, the Bobcats went on a 19-4 run to build a 53-44 lead with 5:04 remaining in the period. The Bobcats would not let up, as they shot 60.0 percent in the frame.

It wasn't only on the offensive end that the Bobcats found their stride. They also put the clamps on a talented Nets team holding them to 31.6 percent shooting in the third period.

The Nets did not go away quietly though as they narrowed the Bobcats lead to three (61-58) at the end of the third.

In the fourth quarter, following a jumper by Kareem Rush that gave Charlotte a 69-62 advantage with 6:40 left in the game, Okafor came up big on the defensive end recording a monstrous block on the Nets' Vince Carter. A subsequent technical foul on Carter followed by a free throw by Rush pushed the Bobcats lead to eight.

Charlotte continued to build their lead as a layup by Bernard Robinson gave the Bobcats an 11-point advantage with 2:50 remaining.

New Jersey was able to cut the deficit to six but Charlotte came up big from the charity stripe connecting on nine free throws in the final 1:01 to seal the win.

The Nets played well to start the game, connecting on 8-of-12 shots to outscore the Bobcats 20-9 in the opening 7:45. Charlotte did not fold, battling back with a 10-0 run to pull within one with 12 seconds left in the stanza.

The second half started much the same way as the first, as the Nets opened the quarter on a 9-2 run to build their advantage to 10. A layup by Jumaine Jones sparked a 7-0 Bobcats run to pull them within one of New Jersey with 4:30 to go in the half. The Nets answered with their own 7-2 run to build their 40-34 lead at the break.

Jones finished with 15 points and seven rebounds to lead a strong peformance by the Bobcats bench. Charlotte's bench finished the game outscoring the Nets' reserves 27-18.

Richard Jefferson scored 25 points to lead the Nets while Carter finished with a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Together Jefferson and Carter combined to score 47 of the Nets 83 points. With the loss, New Jersey dropped their third straight game.

INSIDE THE LOCKERROOM
Bobcats Guard Brevin Knight
(On his performance) The last couple of games I feel like the opportunities are there, so I might as well take them. I'm not going to press the issue. My thing is running this team.

(On snapping the losing skid) It felt like we won the championship, it's been so long. We finally played a complete game all the way through until the end. We've played good games, but then we'd hit a slump and never get out of it.

(On playing well in New Jersey) Personally I never played well against them, and that sat with me. Coming home, these are the games everybody talks about, so I took them a little more personally. Hopefully they can smile a little bit now.

Bobcats Forward Emeka Okafor
(On his block on Carter) I just tried to protect the middle. (Carter) is strong with the ball and obviously he can jump, so you have to time it just right or you'll wind up on the SportsCenter top 10.
